Glossary of terms used on tckt.uk

Like with many systems we have some specific terminology that will be helpful to know:

Account dashboard

The page where a logged in user can view all of their settings and orders, events, groups and invitations. This is accessible at /account.

Associated group

A group that is supporting or attending an event. Group admins, editors and viewers can see who from their group is attending the event. The event will appear on the associated group’s profile as an upcoming event.

Customer

Is a user registered with the tckt platform who can purchase a ticket type or product.

Event

A bookable activity hosted by a group.

Event Admin

A user with full admin control over an event and full read-only access.

Event Editor

A user with limited admin control over an event, and full read-only access.

Event Viewer

A user with limited read-only access to an event.

Group

An individual organisation, charity or ministry. A group can be part of one or more networks on the Tckt Platform.

Group Admin

A user with full admin control over a group.

Group Editor

A user with limited admin control over a group.

Group Viewer

A user with read only access to a group.

Handle

An easy to remember nickname for a group, event or product, which is used in the urls for these items.

Hidden ticket

Is a ticket type that is not publicly viewable without using the custom link provided within the edit event page. Useful for creating ticket types that you only wish to share with specific customers.

Host

A group that organises an event and receives the payment for the ticket sales.

Invite

When a user adds another user, or group to a group or event the other will need to approve the action by accepting an invite. The only exception is when adding trusted groups to an event where the invite stage will be bypassed.

Community

Is a custom branded instance of the Tckt Platform with a custom domain name. It is made up of groups that share a common interest (for example Churches in *** or Youth groups in ***), and approved by the Community Admins.

Community Admin

A user with full admin control over a community.

Order

Is the record of a purchase of tickets and or products in a single transaction.

Order Instalment

Is a record of ticket type instalments due to be paid for an order.

Payment

Is the record of a payment being made, and is associated with an order. Orders containing Order Instalments will have multiple payments.

Tckt Platform

Referring to the site/technology itself (e.g. tckt.uk technology). It is also the default network for all groups accessible at: tckt.uk.

Ticket

Is a purchased instance of a Ticket Type, recorded within an order and associated with a customer. Each ticket has a unique QR code that can be used to heck-in to the event.

Ticket Pool

Provides an allocation of available tickets, that are shared by the underlying ticket types. An event can have 1 or more ticket pools, which are independent of each other.

Ticket Type

Is a type of ticket available within a ticket pool. This is purchasable by a customer and is limited by the number of tickets available in it’s ticket pool. It can additionally be limited further by a cap on the ticket type itself.

Ticket Type Instalment

Is an instalment associated with a ticket type, including payment amount and due date.

Trusted group

An association between two groups allowing either group to add the other as an associated group of their events without requiring the other to approve an invite.

User

Is any individual who interacts with the Tckt platform.
